With nearly 25 years of experience, Assistcargo Risk Management has established itself as a leader in Risk Management solutions and technology applied to logistics in the region. We spoke with Carlos Leymarie, CEO for Latin America, who shared the company's vision, the challenges they identify in the Chilean market, and their next steps for expansion in Latin America.

How would you define the company's mission in the region?

Our mission is to transform logistics risk management in Latin America by combining our experience in the insurance market with innovative technological solutions. We aim to provide our clients with comprehensive risk prevention, management, and administration programs that reduce losses, increase logistics efficiency, and ensure business continuity.

Your company has just opened offices in Santiago, Chile. What does this step mean for your regional strategy?

It is our intention to be closer to our clients. With the opening of our office in Chile, we have reached a new milestone: we now have five monitoring centers in the region – Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Mexico City, and Bogotá. This growth strengthens our regional presence and allows us to continue supporting each client with high-level technological solutions tailored to the specific needs of the Chilean market.

What is the most attractive feature you see in the Chilean market?

Chile offers a very attractive scenario due to its economic and regulatory stability, something not always found in other Latin American markets. This predictability allows for the design of long-term projects with a greater degree of confidence.

Another aspect we highlight is the constant pursuit of continuous improvement within the logistics sector. There is a strong commitment to professionalizing the supply chain, incorporating new technologies, and raising efficiency and safety standards.

Furthermore, we found in Chile an insurance market with a strong interest in innovation, willing to support developments that generate added value for its clients. This openness is key to promoting solutions like those we offer at Assistcargo.

Of course, a challenge remains: there is no clear consensus on who should fund these types of innovative management practices. This is a issue that will need to mature over time, as the various stakeholders recognize that investing in innovation is not a cost, but a strategic investment that benefits the entire logistics chain.

If you had to point out three key values that differentiate Assistcargo from its competition in Chile, what would they be?

Regional experience: we have nearly 25 years of experience in Latin America, which gives us deep knowledge of the region's logistics risks. That experience allows us to anticipate real-world issues and adapt our services to the particular needs of each client and each country.

Passion for technology and a strong investment mindset: we developed our own platform, Simon 4.0, which integrates real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and sustainability tools. Few players, even at a global level, offer such a complete and consolidated technological ecosystem.

Specialized human team: in recent years, we have developed new generations of professionals with expertise in insurance and logistics, together with a strong service vocation and close client relationships. That combination of experience, innovation, and commitment places us in a unique position to deliver solutions that truly create value.

Finally, what new objectives have been set for the coming years at Assistcargo?

The opening in Chile, along with new markets—such as Ecuador and Peru, and the selection of a future country in Central America—are part of a larger vision: to consolidate Assistcargo as the leading platform for Logistics Risk Management throughout the region.
